WEDDING - Days Before

Pre-Wedding: March 8th - 9th 2016

On Tuesday March 8th we had my Dad and Step-Mum, Phil's Mum and Step-Dad, Phil's older Brother, his wife and Phil's/Our Two older Nephews arrive, as well as my Brother and His Partner!
Phil's younger Brother was very smart, arriving the Saturday BEFORE everyone else appeared so we were able to spend some good, quality time with him and his Two Boys (Our younger Nephews) before the rest of the Family arrived. He was very helpful and we had heaps of fun with them - they were a great distraction from wedding related ‘stress’s’ etc as time came closer to the big day.

(Riding without training wheels for the first time!)

Having EVERYONE arrive the Tuesday, Rehearsal and Reception set up the Wednesday and the Wedding Thursday we thought it would get pretty hectic and Stressful but it was surprisingly calm. We even managed to catch up with each and every family member as they arrived on Tuesday!

It was the first time EVER our entire family's were in the same place at the same time, it was also the first time some of them had met each other - Eleven Years together and it was going to be the first time My Dad and Step-Mum met Phil's Mum and Step-Dad!
It had also been to long since I/we had seen my Dad and Step-Mum, who live the furthest away making visits the hardest, and this didn't help my emotions!

I had a few tears prior to The Big Day, I must admit, everything was very overwhelming, but in a wonderful way! I had a cry when my Dad arrived. Then with my Step-Mum. Then the next day with my Brother and once with my Mum! … Just little outbursts of emotions.
I also had watery eyes through most of the Rehearsal! I almost had ANOTHER cry at the Rehearsal but the Photographers walked in just as i was about to burst and my tears got stuck. I think by the Wedding day I was all cried out!

Rehearsal and Set-Up: March 9th 2016

We hadn't even thought of having a rehearsal to be honest! It was our Photographer who asked us about it (Thanks Sarah!) and it was a great idea! Although, I think more tears were shed at the Rehearsal then the Ceremony itself - I was misty-eyed through the entire thing!
It was very touching and having my Dad and Step-Mum there with us made the experience even more sentimental.
I must say I was happy to have our Photographer arrive, she is very quirky and made things a little more light-hearted; without her there I would have probably been a blubbering mess! Our Minister was delightful to, and we felt very relaxed with/around him which helped calm any pre-wedding nerve's and left us feeling confident about the Ceremony the next day.

After the Rehearsal we got a late Breakfast and prepared to head out to the Reception Venue for Setup.
The Venue itself was so Lovely we didn’t need to do anything to it to ‘Pretty-it-up” so left it as it was and aimed for ‘pretty and simple’ with the Table Settings.
My Brother and his Partner took the lead with the Setting up which was very helpful and neat to have them be involved with the pre-wedding prep.

We had Pine-Cones which held the Name-cards, Menu Cards, Favor boxes for each guest and Flower Arrangements (created by my Mum) for each table, which we thought looked wonderful!
We also had a band, who arrived a little after we did. They did what they needed to do and got set up while we worked on the tables etc.
Then it was time to head back to town for dinner and last minute preparations for the next day.
